The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. R C Berwick


Robert Charles Berwick, from Manor Park, Essex was born in December 1918, the son of Charles and Lily Elizabeth Berwick.

He served with 25 Squadron in the Battle of Britain.

In early 1941 he was posted to 78 Squadron at Dishforth as a Flight Sergeant, flying in Whitleys.

Berwick was killed aged 22 whilst in Whitley V Z6661 when it crashed at Lorup, west of Bremen, during a raid on that city on 19th June 1941.
