Sculptor inspects progress at Foundry

Paul Day, the monument sculptor, travelled from his studio in France to the Foundry (Morris Singer Ltd) to review progress on the bronze castings.

He examined the completed castings and said he was delighted with the progress made so far. He felt they looked a little sad when seen on their own and was looking forward to seeing them in their final setting in the granite plinth with all the other sections.

Paul also checked the wax stages of the next sections. He gave approval for these to be cast soon. See page on the casting process

Paul then discussed the colour (the "patination") that the bronzes will be finished in with Tony Dyson, the architect.
