Visiting the Monument

Directions to the Monument
The monument is sited on the Victoria Embankment (north bank of the Thames) about 200 metres from Westminster bridge. It is almost directly opposite the Millennium Wheel (the huge London Eye Ferris wheel) which is on the south bank of the Thames. See maps opposite for details.

Underground trains (the Tube)
The nearest underground railway station is Westminster. Follow the signs to "The Embankment" (exit 1) turn left out of the exit and the monument is less than 1 minute walk. Embankment station is also close. The nearest main line station is Charing Cross.

Buses to Westminster:
Route 12: Oxford Circus - Piccadilly Circus - Trafalgar Square - Westminster.
Route 53: Plumstead - Woolwich - Deptford - Westminster.
Route 148: Marble Arch - Hyde Park Corner - Victoria - Westminster.
Route 453: Marylebone - Oxford Circus - Trafalgar Square - Westminster.

Car parking.
There is little car parking near by. The closest is probably across the river near the London Eye and then a short walk across Westminster bridge and turn right down the embankment to the monument.
