The Airmen's Stories - F/O S P Stephenson

 

Stanley Philip Stephenson was born 20th January 1913 and joined the RAF on a short service commission in November 1937.

 

 

Stephenson was posted to 2 FTS Brize Norton on 9th January 1938 and joined 85 Squadron at Debden on 20th August. Stephenson was still with the squadron at the start of the Battle of Britain and was posted away on 4th August 1940.

His subsequent service is currently undocumented though it is known that he survived the war and was released from the RAF in 1947 as a Squadron Leader.

He died in June 2003 in Chichester.
