The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. W S Ruddock

 

Wilfred Shepherd Ruddock was born on 11th May 1901 in Willesden, Middlesex, the son of a journalist. He joined the Ground Section of the RAFVR before the war as an Aircrafthand.

He married Kathleen Evennett in October 1931 at Deptford.

Called up on 1st September 1939, he later volunteered for aircrew duties and after a radar course he joined 23 Squadron at Collyweston on 18th July 1940.

His subsequent service is currently undocumented until he was released from the RAF in 1945 as a Warrant Officer.

He died on 6th November 1980 in Chester.
