The Airmen's Stories - P/O H A Pippard

 

Harold Alfred Pippard was born on 15th June 1909 and was a chemist before joining the RAFVR with a direct-entry commission as an Air Gunner in early 1940.

 

 

He was serving with 29 Squadron at Drem by 4th April 1940. He served with it throughout the Battle of Britain.

 

 

His subsequent service is currently undocumented until he was released from the RAF in 1946. He rejoined in 1947 and retired on 5th September 1958 as a Squadron Leader.

 

Above: He had married Olive Rose Roberts at St. Nicholas, Winchcombe on 29th January 1938.

 

Pippard died on 22nd October 1999.
