The Airmen's Stories - F/O J D Pattison

 

John David Pattison was born in Toronto, Canada on 11th September 1919. He enlisted in the RCAF on 13th December 1938 and was posted to No.1 RCAF Squadron at Northolt on 30th August 1940.

 

 

By 1942 he was serving with 419 (RCAF) Squadron and was awarded the DFC (gazetted 6th November 1942) as an Acting Squadron Leader. He returned to Canada to command 145 (RCAF) Squadron at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia where he served from 1st March to 30th June 1945.

He was released from the RCAF on 5th September 1945 as a Wing Commander.

Pattison died in Toronto on 2nd October 1986.
