The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. P J McAllister

 

Patrick John McAllister was born on 5th February 1916 in Dromara, County Down, Northern Ireland and joined the RAF about June 1940 as an Aircrafthand.

He volunteered for aircrew duties and went on a short radar course.

 

 

He joined 23 Squadron at Collyweston, on 21st July 1940. He flew his first operational sortie on 9th September and his last one with the squadron on 7th October, both night patrols.

McAllister moved to 29 Squadron at Wellingore on 20th October 1940 and flew his first sortie on the 29th.

He was posted away from 29 Squadron in July 1941.

His subsequent service is currently undocumented.

McAllister died on 11th February 1987 in Stockton-on-Tees.
