The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. T A Maslen
Thomas Arthur Maslen, from Bath, was born in 1916, the son of Harry Maslen (1882-1967) and Alice Maslen (nee Keeling 1883-1973).
He was educated at Combe Down School,
Oldfield Council School and
Bath Technical College.
Maslen joined the RAF in July 1938 as as an Aircrafthand. He later remustered as a WOp/AG and was posted to 235 Squadron operating Blenheims in early July 1940. He was killed on 25th October 1941 aged 25 when serving with 8 AACU at Pengam Moor, Somerset.
A Magister I, T9831, of that unit, flown by Sgt. R Bedkowski, flew into the ground near North Petherton in Somerset. Both men were killed.
Maslen is buried in Bath (Haycombe) Cemetery.
