The Airmen's Stories - AC1 W Lowther

Walter Lowther joined the RAF about June 1940. He volunteered for aircrew and was sent on a short radar course, after which he joined 219 Squadron around July/August 1940.

He flew his first and only sortie with 219 Squadron on 2nd September 1940, with Sgt. T Birkett as pilot and Sgt. CEP Castle as air gunner.

His subsequent service is currently undocumented but it is believed that he survived the war.
