The Airmen's Stories - P/O D C Howe

 

Donald Charles Howe was born on 10th November 1917 and joined the RAFVR about April 1939 as an Airman u/t Pilot. He later remustered as an Airman u/t Observer.

Called up on 1st September 1939, Howe completed his training at 5 B&GS Jurby, was commissioned and joined 235 Squadron at North Coates on 1st April 1940, serving with it until March 1941.

Howe's subsequent service is currently undocumented until 1946, when Howe was released from the RAF as a Flight Lieutenant.

He rejoined the RAFVR on 6th September 1948.

In November 1978 a Squadron Leader Donald C Howe was recorded as being CO of 104 (Umtali) Squadron. Rhodesian Air Force Volunteer Reserve. It is not known if it is the same person.
