The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. S Gordon
Stanley Gordon of Heaton, Yorkshire was born in 1920, the son of Walter and Agnes Gordon.
He joined the RAF in October 1939 and volunteered for aircrew duties, remustering as an Airman u/t WOp/AG. After completing his training he joined 235 Squadron on 25th October 1940.
Gordon was killed on 28th May 1941 when Blenheim Mk IV V5453 LA-O of 235 Squadron was shot down off Texel, Frisian Islands, Holland by fighters.
The pilot, F/Sgt. HT Naughtin, and Sgt. R Oldroyd were also lost.
