The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. G P Cox

 

Gilbert Parish Cox was born on 19th February 1921 and joined the RAF in February 1939 as a direct-entry Airman u/t Observer.

 

He was posted to 236 Squadron at St. Eval on 20th September 1940 and flew his first operational sortie on the 29th.

All sorties flown by Cox in October 1940 were with P/O AK Chappell as pilot and Sgt. HG Matthews as Wireless Operator/Air Gunner.

His subsequent service is currently undocumented and it is not known at what date he left the RAF.

Cox died on 8th May 1988 in Seaton, Devon.
