The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. C F J Cole

 

Charles Frederick John Cole was born in the first quarter of 1921 in Christchurch, Dorset and joined the RAFVR about March 1939 as an Airman u/t Observer.

He was called up on 1st September 1939 and after completing his training joined 236 Squadron at St. Eval on 3rd September 1940. He flew his first operational sortie on the 6th.

Cole's subsequent service is currently undocumented but it may be assumed that he survived the war as he married Doreen OJ Anstey at Bournemouth in October 1948.
