The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. K M Allen

 

Kenneth Mervyn Allen was born on 23rd April 1919 and joined the RAFVR as an Airman u/t Pilot in May 1939. He was called up on 1st September 1939 and with his training completed he went from 5 OTU Aston Down to join 257 Squadron at Debden on 1st September 1940.

He moved to 43 Squadron at Usworth on the 11th and to 253 at Kenley on the 28th.

He was still serving with 253 in November 1940.

Allen was commissioned from Warrant Officer in April 1943 and released from the RAF in 1946 as a Flight Lieutenant.

He died in February 1984 in Plymouth.
