The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. D J Pearcy
Dennis Jack Pearcy, from Yeovil, Somerset was one of thirteen children. Before the war he worked for a local footwear company. He joined the RAF in September 1939 as as Air Gunner and after training was posted to 219 squadron operating Blenheims.
He was with the squadron throughout the Battle and must have retrained as a Radar Operator as he stayed with the squadron when it was re-equipped with Beaufighters.
Pearcy was killed together with his pilot P/O WGM Lambie when their Beaufighter R2048 crashed near Kenley on 15th November 1940, cause unknown.
Pearcy was 25 and is buried
in Yeovil Cemetery.
