The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. A D Page

Anthony Durrant Page joined the RAFVR about March 1939 as an Airman u/t Pilot. Called up on 1st September, he completed his training at 6 FTS, Little Rissington and arrived at 6OTU, Sutton Bridge on 3rd August 1940. After converting to Hurricanes, Page joined 111 Squadron at Debden on 31st August and moved to 257 Squadron at Martlesham Heath on 28th September.

He was killed on 8th November 1940 when his Hurricane, V6870, crashed and burned out in Day's Cornfield, Stelling Minnis during a squadron patrol.

Page was 21 years old and is buried in Folkestone New Cemetery, Hawkinge.
