The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. J Murray

 

James Murray joined the RAF in March 1935 as an Aircrafthand but was later accepted for pilot training. He joined 610 Squadron at Acklington on 16th September 1940 and moved to 74 Squadron at Biggin Hill on 28th October. Murray was killed in the Middle East on 3rd April 1943 as a Warrant Officer with the Aden Communications Flight. With no known grave, Murray is remembered on the Alamein Memorial.
