The Airmen's Stories - Sgt. J H Hogg

 

John Henry Hogg, from Wolviston, County Durham, joined the RAFVR in June 1939 as an Airman u/t Pilot. Called up on 1st September 1939 he later remustered as an Air Gunner. He joined 141 Squadron at Dyce on 21st August 1940. He was killed on 23rd July 1943 aged 22 as a Flight Sergeant with 159 Squadron, operating Liberators from Palestine. He is remembered on the Alamein Memorial.
